Many of these platforms require a Japanese phone number, local address, and domestic payment method — and they often do not accept international credit cards.

The fee policy for auctions and apps is similar to our online shopping service. Check out our service fee and example calculation below:

✅ Example A: You win an auction at 3,000 JPY. 10% = 300 JPY → fee = 500 JPY (minimum applies).
✅ Example B: You win an auction at 12,000 JPY. 10% = 1,200 JPY → fee = 1,200 JPY (higher than 500).
➕ Additional costs you must cover:
- Domestic shipping fee (from online shop to our Japan address). Many shops offer free domestic shipping over a certain amount, but if not, we pass the exact cost to you.
- Auction-specific fees Yahoo Auctions charges a final value fee (消費税分 + システム利用料) usually around 6.5%–10% of winning bid. We pass this exact fee to you.
- PayPal fee: 6% charged by PayPal for receiving payment
📦 Total example: You win an auction at 18,000 JPY on Mercari. Domestic shipping 700 JPY + our service fee (10% of item = 1800 JPY) = 18,000 + 700 + 800 + 1800 = 21,300 JPY before international shipping and PayPal fee 6% of the total.

📝 4. How auction bidding works (max bid and deposit)
Bidding on Yahoo Auctions requires a special process. We act as your dedicated bidder. Here is our unique rule for auctions:
🔑 Critical policy for auctions:
① You provide a "max bid" amount — the absolute maximum you're willing to pay for the item (excluding fees, domestic shipping, and service fee).
② You must pay a 50% deposit of your max bid BEFORE we place any bid. This deposit secures your commitment and covers us in case you win.
③ If you win: The deposit goes toward the final item cost. You then pay the remaining 50% + service fee + domestic shipping + system fees + international shipping + Paypal fee.
④ If you lose: The 50% deposit is fully refunded (minus any bank fees, if any — but we refund via same method). No service fee is charged if you don't win.
⑤ If you win but cancel: The deposit is non-refundable because we have to pay the seller.
💡 Why 50% deposit? Auctions are binding. When we bid on your behalf, we are legally obligated to pay if we win. The deposit ensures serious bids only. It also allows us to bid instantly up to your max without asking for approval each time.
How a typical auction request works (step-by-step):
Step 1: You send us the Yahoo Auction link (or Mercari/Rakuma fixed-price listing).
Step 2: You tell us your max bid (for auction) or confirm price (for fixed-price Mercari).
Step 3: We send you an invoice for 50% of your max bid (deposit).
Step 4:We place your bid after receiving your deposit. We will never exceed your max bid.
Step 5: If you win: We notify you, and you pay the remaining 50% + service fee + domestic shipping + auction system fee. If you lose, we refund you everything minus PayPal fee.
Step 6 : If won: Item arrives at our address → you pay international shipping → we send to you.
⏱️ Auction timing: For Yahoo Auctions, we can bid anytime during the listing. We recommend sending requests at least 6 hours before auction end to ensure we have deposit confirmed.
⚠️ Important: For auctions with reserve price (最低落札価格), we will inform you. If your max bid is below reserve, we might not be able to win. But deposit remains refundable if no win occurs.
